Growing up, my father was the heart of our family meals. He had an insatiable love for food, savoring everything from crusty breads to hearty pastas. He was the kind of man who believed that food was love, and he expressed it with every bite, every shared recipe, and every seat he pulled up at the table.
But everything changed when, at the age of 60, my father’s love affair with food met an unwelcome reality: gluten intolerance. A doctor’s diagnosis turned his world upside down, challenging his passion for eating and cooking. Suddenly, the foods that had been a source of joy became off-limits.
At first, it was overwhelming, but my father isn’t one to back down from a challenge. Instead of lamenting the foods he could no longer enjoy, he decided to embrace this new chapter as an opportunity. Together, as a family, we embarked on a mission to rediscover the joy of eating—this time, gluten-free.
And that’s how Foodies Haven was born. Our shop is a celebration of resilient families, culinary creativity, and the belief that dietary restrictions should never mean sacrificing flavor or connection.
